Introduction to Pistol Shooting

Arlington Heights Location: 601 W. Campus Dr., Suite C1 and Article II Range, 250 Cortland in Lombard

The objective of this class is to provide the new or inexperienced shooter a fun and informative opportunity to learn about pistols and pistol shooting in a supervised and safe range environment.

No prior pistol or shooting experience is required. After a short classroom session, at our location in Arlington Heights students will proceed to the range at Article II in Lombard to shoot various handguns under direct supervision with an instructor. Everything will be provided including firearms, ammunition, targets and safety gear.

Course topics include:

  • 1 on 1 instructor training

  • Gun safety rules

  • proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols

  • shooting fundamentals

  • Marksmanship

  • Shooting range safety and range etiquette

No FOID card is required; however, students must not be prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or firearm ammunition. For information about obtaining a FOID (Firearm Owners I.D.) follow this link www.ispfsb.com. Students owning firearms may bring and use them during the course.
